Dhenkanal: Sunita Nayak, a specially-abled student from Kamakhyanagar block in Dhenkanal district, has emerged as a symbol of determination after successfully clearing the Matric examination despite multiple challenges.

A student of Nigamananda High School, Sunita drew widespread attention across the state during the examinations due to her extremely short height, around 1.5 feet. She was one of the shortest candidates to appear for the exam this year.

A resident of Kata village under Saruali panchayat, she appeared for the examination at the Kanapura Panchayat Raj High School centre. Sunita, who has difficulty speaking and hearing, took the exam with the assistance of her cousin.

She was accompanied by her mother and cousin to the examination centre. With strong family support and remarkable determination, she secured 309 marks and successfully passed the examination.

Her achievement has brought immense joy to her family, especially her mother and the cousin who supported her during the exams.

Her mother expressed hope that, with government assistance, Sunita will be able to pursue higher education in the future.

Sunita’s story stands as an inspiring example of resilience and determination in overcoming physical challenges.
