Bhubaneswar: A woman lecturer died under suspicious circumstances in Odisha’s Jajpur district today.

The deceased has been identified as Bijaylaxmi Senapati (34) of Kuradila village in Khurda district.

Bijaylaxmi was working a lecturer at a private higher secondary school near Byasanagar in Jajpur for last eight years. She was staying in a rented accommodation at Sankhachilla.

The woman lecturer, a spinster, was reportedly rushed to a hospital at Jajpur Road by her landlord today morning. She died while undergoing treatment at the health facility in the afternoon.

At the time of her admission, the hemoglobin level of the woman lecturer was very low due to excess bleeding, hospital sources said. However, the hospital authorities are yet to reveal the cause of her death.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s brother, the Panikoili police reached the hospital and seized the body before sending it for postmortem.

The cops have also launched a probe into the incident. Sources, meanwhile, claimed that the authorities of the private educational institution allegedly made an attempt to take the body away from the hospital.
