Koraput: A young man was allegedly stabbed to death in a group attack over past enmity in Jeypore town of Odisha's Koraput district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Kishan Kuldeep. According to his family members and eyewitnesses, Kishan had come to Jeypore in the morning for some work when a group of youths ambushed him near the LIC office and KTM showroom.

The attackers allegedly included Dinesh of the Umuri area, Jaga of Randapali and another associate identified as Rohit. They attacked Kishan and his companions with a sharp-edged knife.

Kishan suffered deep stab wounds to his back and chest, resulting in heavy blood loss. Locals and his friends informed his family about the attack. His brother Bikash Kuldeep and other family members rushed him to the district headquarters hospital.

However, Kishan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Doctors said that he died due to severe blood loss caused by the deep wound on his back.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and the alleged involvement of the accused youths.
