Bhubaneswar: A group of individuals in Odisha capital is translating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Swachh Bharat' campaign into reality by way of giving meaningful shape to waste.

Sristhi-Brushing the Beyond, the art club of SOA University, is making an attempt at with an event ‘Recycle Mania’, where the participants would showcase their creativity using waste materials.

The club had earlier dabbled in painting on canvas, glass painting, sketches and also digital art. “While working with scraps, the coordinators came up with the idea of holding an event where other students of the varsity can be involved to create best out of waste. It will inspire students to use waste products to create beautiful things,” said Sukanya Chatterjee of Sristhi.

She said the idea is to clean the surroundings in an artistic way. “Such initiatives will help in our Clean India mission. It will also allow us to promote different art forms,” she said.

The participants have been asked to bring waste collected from their surroundings. “We are expecting solid waste like Pepsi cans and tetra packs,” she said, adding that Team Sristhi will assist the participants during the event being held tomorrow at the varsity.

The club had earlier organised a painting competition, Tullika, for school children of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
