Bhubaneswar: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Global Trade and Services Committee, successfully organised a one-day seminar titled “ICAI Global Orbit: From GCCs to Global Leadership” at Mayfair Convention on Friday.
The programme was hosted by ICAI Bhubaneswar (EIRC) and witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Chartered Accountancy profession, industry experts, and aspiring professionals.
The inaugural session commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp in the presence of dignitaries. CA. (Dr.) Goutam Lenka, Chairman of ICAI Bhubaneswar, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the growing importance of global opportunities for Indian CAs. CA. Sanjib Sanghi, Chairman of the Global Trade and Services Committee, addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for Indian professionals to expand their footprint in international markets.
Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Odisha, addressed the audience through a video message, as he could not be physically present at the event. In his message, he appreciated ICAI’s initiative in empowering professionals with global insights and encouraged participants to embrace technology and innovation.
The seminar featured a series of insightful technical sessions by eminent speakers. Topics included strategies to acquire global clients, opportunities and challenges in global outsourcing, domestic and international networking guidelines, and the role of cloud accounting in modern practice. Experts from across the country shared their knowledge, including CA. Chetan Venugopal, CA. Debayan Patra, Mr. Narayanan K.P. from Zoho Corporation, CA ANZ Vidhi Ashik Mody, and CA. Ankit Chugh, who elaborated on the impact of AI tools transforming the CA profession.
A special session on “AI Tools for Global CAs” highlighted the transition from traditional tools like Excel to advanced AI-driven solutions, underlining the future-ready approach required in the profession.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by CA. Soumya Sunil Sahoo, Secretary of ICAI Bhubaneswar, expressing gratitude to all speakers, participants, and organisers for making the event a grand success.
The seminar served as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and reinforced ICAI’s commitment to equipping its members for global leadership.
