Bhubaneswar: The Odisha branch of Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) successfully organised the International Nurses’ Day Celebration with great enthusiasm, dignity, and professional spirit.
The programme brought together nursing leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, students, and dignitaries to honour the invaluable contribution of nurses to society and healthcare services.
The celebration was conducted under the inspiring theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” The event highlighted the importance of investing in nursing and protecting the rights of nurses to ensure global health and quality patient care.
The programme commenced with registration and breakfast, followed by the ceremonial Lamp Lighting Ceremony attended by all dignitaries, symbolizing knowledge, compassion, and dedication in the nursing profession. A graceful inaugural Odissi dance performance by Abhipsa Mohapatra added cultural elegance to the occasion.
Prof. Dr. Anasuya Pattanayak, President, TNAI Odisha branch, delivered the welcome address and officially unfolded the theme of International Nurses’ Day. She emphasized the crucial role of nurses in strengthening healthcare systems and empowering communities.
Chief Guest Renuka Das, Former Principal, PG Institute of Nursing, Cancer Hill Hospital, Gwalior, addressed the gathering and appreciated the tireless service, compassion, and commitment of nurses toward humanity. She encouraged young nurses to uphold ethical values and continue serving society with empathy and competence.
Dr. Rajalaxmi Mishra, Principal, College of Nursing, Berhampur, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and inspired the participants with her motivating address on dedication and excellence in nursing education.
Sucharita Das, DGM Nursing, Apollo Hospital, Bhubaneswar, attended the event as the Special Guest and shared valuable insights on leadership, professionalism, and modern nursing practices.
The celebration also included felicitation ceremonies, recognition of nursing leadership, honouring distinguished guests, and presentation of the Nurse Excellence Award to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of nursing. Cultural performances and musical renditions further enriched the programme.
Dr. Ritanjali Sahoo, Secretary, TNAI Odisha branch, honoured the guests with tokens of appreciation and delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, participants, and supporters for making the programme a grand success.
