No more restriction on home delivery by e-commerce sites during Odisha lockdown

Bhubaneswar:  Home delivery of all kind of products by various e-commerce platforms will be allowed in the second phase of the COVID-19 lockdown in Odisha. Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena informed this here today.

Briefing mediapersons,  the SRC said following requests from public for a few changes during the first phase of the lockdown, the state Government has decided to allow home delivery of all goods through e-commerce and online platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Blue Dart, DTDC and BigBasket.

Earlier, the Government had given permission for takeaways of food through online delivery operators. They were not allowed to visit restaurants for food. In the second phase, roadside Dhabas will remain open during so that drivers and helpers of logistic vehicles can take food from the eateries, he added.

The second phase of lockdown will begin from April 15 and remain in force till April 30 midnight. It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha is the first state in the country to extend the lockdown till April 30.
