Odisha Child Protection Officer engages minor girl as domestic help

Bhubaneswar: An eight-year-old girl, who was allegedly engaged as a domestic help by Anuradha Nayak, Child Protection Officer, Angul DCPU, has been rescued from Bhubaneswar railway station.

Childline officials and police rescued the minor girl of Prasanti Vihar here from the railway station last night while she was returning to Nayak's residence after celebrating Raja festival, reports said.

The child was reportedly working at the official's house for the last seven months. She was engaged for cleaning the house and looking after Nayak's baby, sources said.

An FIR in this regard has been lodged by the Childline with Infocity police.
