Balasore: Two siblings were stabbed to death this evening in Odisha’s Balasore district for refusing to transact on credit.

According to sources, two motorcycle-borne miscreants arrived at a poultry centre owned by the siblings – Bikash Jena and Tapan Jena – and asked them to give them meat on credit. When the brothers refused to lend credit to them, an altercation ensued between them.

Moments later, the miscreants attacked the Jena brothers with a sharp object, injuring them grievously. Hearing them wailing, locals came to their rescue and rushed them to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

However, the eldest among the two Bikash succumbed the injuries first followed by his brother.

The duo hailed from Nangudi village under Ranasahi panchayat in the district. The incident took place at Jhagadapadhi Square where they had opened a poultry centre.

Meanwhile, Chandipur police have registered a case and are investigating into the incident.
