Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a youth brutally attacked a woman teacher of Ambapada Primary School under Niali police limits in Cuttack district today.

The miscreant attacked her when she was teaching in a classroom of the school and later fled the scene. The teacher, who sustained multiple injuries in the attack, was rushed to Charichhak Community Health Centre (CHC) in critical condition. She was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, locals detained the accused youth while he was trying to escape after committing the crime and later handed him over to police. The accused is said to be a resident of Ambapada village.

However, the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
