Kendrapara: Two minor girls were allegedly abducted by a youth on way to their school in Pattamundai police station area of Kendrapara district today. However, the accused was later nabbed by locals and handed over to police.

As per the complaint, the two girls of Mochipada village under Pattamundai police limits were on their way to school this morning, when a person came on a two-wheeler bike and offered them lift. He later kidnapped the two girls. While one is studying in Class 4 and another is in Class 5. Acting on the complaint lodged by their family members, Pattamundai police launched a search operation.

Fortunately, locals of Khetrapala village in the district managed to detain the youth, who was kidnapping the girls on a scooter. The locals later handed the accused youth and the girls over to police.
