Bhubaneswar: BJP national president Nitin Nabin directed party workers in Odisha to ensure that government welfare schemes such as Subhadra, Ayushman and cooperative services reach every household across the state.
The direction was issued during the first phase of the Odisha BJP workers’ meeting held in Bhubaneswar as part of Nabin’s two-day organisational visit to the state. After the meeting, Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi briefed the media about the discussions and organisational strategy.
BJP focuses on booth-level outreach for Government schemes
Sarangi said the party leadership emphasised that the success of the government depends on effectively delivering schemes directly to beneficiaries. He stated that BJP workers have been instructed to take both Central and State government welfare initiatives to the booth level and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive direct financial assistance in their bank accounts without the involvement of middlemen or brokers.
“There are schemes and there are funds. The government can succeed only if workers ensure these benefits reach every household,” Sarangi said, adding that the party leadership has called for completely eliminating intermediary systems in welfare delivery.
Nabin reportedly told party workers that the welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi-led Central government and the Odisha government are the party’s biggest means of public outreach and communication.
The BJP national president arrived in Odisha on Sunday for a two-day organisational tour. He chaired a meeting of the Odisha BJP core committee at the party headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Jual Oram, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda, Deputy CMs KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Minister Suresh Pujari and several senior BJP leaders.
