Balangir: A newly elected legislator from Patnagarh Assembly seat suddenly drew media glare for his audacity to show anger towards an engineer allegedly for poor road construction work in his constituency.

A video clip was aired on electronic media showing the Patnagarh MLA Saroj Kumar Meher forcing the government official to do sit-ups in public for poor quality work.

Expressing his displeasure over the bad quality road construction work in his area, Meher was seen in the video asking him to do 100 sit-ups in front of the public.

The victim, who is designated as the Junior Engineer in Public Works Department (PWD), was seen doing sit-ups and later he apologised for poor quality work.

In the video, the legislator was seen saying that he himself is a taxpayer and the poor quality work by the contractors is causing huge loss to the exchequer.
