Bhubaneswar: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was scheduled to address two public rallies in Odisha today, couldn’t reach the venues as his helicopter was not allowed to fly.

The UP CM was supposed to address ‘Vijay Sankalp Samavesh’ at Phulbani in Kandhamal district at around 12 pm and later at Berhampur in Ganjam district at 3 pm, party sources said.

According to a top official of the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), the UP CM’s helicopter reached Bhubaneswar late by over three hours. “His (Yogi Adityanath) helicopter was not given permission due to the sunset restrictions,” said BPIA Director Suresh Chandra Hota.

“He is going back to Lucknow.”

Left with no options, the UP CM addressed the public via telephone from the airport.
