Elderly man trampled to death by elephants in Odisha's Nuapada

Nuapada: An elderly man was trampled to death by wild elephants here this morning. The deceased was identified as Lati Pandey.

The incident occurred on outskirts of Bhaitumundi village in early morning.

According to reports, a herd of wild elephants suddenly attacked Lati Pandey, 65, in the forest while he was returning home from forest after attending nature's call. One of the elephants trampled him to death on the spot.

Getting information about the incident, the forest officials reached spot.

The locals said that the elephants were never spotted in the area ever before.

A month back, a tiger had created panic in the region.
