'Unruly' passenger onboard flight deboarded at Odisha capital airport

Bhubaneswar: A passenger of an airborne IndiGo flight was deboarded at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Odisha capital today over his unruly behaviour.

According to airport officials, Hyderabad-Guwahati IndiGo flight no. 6E 462 was diverted to the BPIA after a passenger namely Irshad Ali (20) tried to breach flight safety procedures by attempting to open the door of the aircraft and he was very "unruly".

With the help of few passengers and his co-passenger Abdul Karim, he was restrained.

After the landing at the Bhubaneswar Airport around 6.10 am, Ali was handed over to police. He was later admitted to the Capital Hospital here. The person is reportedly mentally unstable.

The aircraft later resumed its journey to Guwahati at 7.13 am and reached the destination around 8.30 am.
