Bhubaneswar: A 14-year-old boy drowned in the Kuakhai river in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Ashutosh Swain.

According to reports, Ashutosh had gone to the river with his friends to catch fish. However, he did not return home in the evening, following which his family members began searching for him. Later, a complaint was lodged at the Mancheswar police station.

After hours of search operation, the Fire Services personnel recovered the boy’s body from the river at around 2 am.

Ashutosh was the only son of media person Linkan Swain. The bereaved parents have been left devastated by the untimely death of their child.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
