Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has issued a notification for admission into undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic session 2026–27.

As per the notification, the Common Application Form (CAF) for UG admissions will be available on the SAMS portal (www.samsodisha.gov.in) from 4 PM on May 27, 2026. Students can fill in and submit the CAF online between May 27 and June 10, 2026. The first merit list is scheduled to be published on June 17, 2026.

E-admissions into Plus-III Degree colleges, including self-financing institutions and Sanskrit (Shastri) colleges across the state, will be conducted through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).

Officials stated the admission process for the 2026–27 academic year will be carried out in line with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Under the NEP 2020 framework, students will have greater flexibility in choosing subject combinations while filling out the CAF. They can opt for a single major with two minor subjects, double majors, or three minor subjects based on their interests and preferences.

The Higher Education Department aims to commence undergraduate classes for the new academic session by July 9, 2026, officials added.
