Udala: Serious allegations have surfaced against the Udala Sub-Divisional Hospital after a patient claimed he was provided expired medicine and incorrect treatment for a skin condition.

The incident involves Lawrence Khandei of Khaladi village under Udala police limits. He had visited the hospital after developing itching and skin sores. Following a medical consultation, he was prescribed medicines.

However, later that night, while preparing to use the prescribed lotion, he reportedly discovered that it had already expired. The medicine in question, Clotrimazole lotion, had allegedly crossed its expiry date in 2025. Shocked by the discovery, Khandei informed his mother, and the family raised concerns over the hospital’s negligence.

Adding to the controversy, the patient alleged that instead of providing the appropriate lotion for his skin condition, he was given ear drops with a similar composition.

However, the Sub-Divisional Medical Officer denied the allegations. He said that the disputed medicine was not mentioned in the official prescription and claimed that it was not issued by the Udala Hospital.
