Keonjhar: The district court here has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing a finance company employee by running him over with an SUV in Odisha’s Keonjhar.

Last year, two employees of a private finance company had gone to the Mundasahi area under Nayakote police limits to collect pending instalments of a motorcycle loan from a borrower of Kadakala locality.

According to the case details, after the employees visited his house, the accused, Ramsingh Munda, allegedly chased them and deliberately ran an SUV over them, which led to the death of one of them.

During the trial, the court examined statements from 11 witnesses. Based on the evidence, the district and sessions judge found the accused guilty and awarded life imprisonment.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the convict.
