Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday carried out a major reshuffle in the Indian Police Service (IPS) cadre, transferring 18 police officers and appointing new Superintendents of Police (SPs) in several districts.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department, senior IPS officer Madkar Sandeep Sampat, who was serving as SP of Nabarangpur in the rank of DIGP, has been posted as DIG of Police, CID-CB, Odisha, Cuttack.
Smit Parshottamdas Parmar, who was SP in the CID-CB wing, has been appointed as the new SP of Nayagarh, while Khurda SP Vivekanand Sharma has been shifted as SP, CID-CB, Odisha, Cuttack.
Among other key changes, Rayagada SP Swathy S. Kumar has been posted as SP, STF, Bhubaneswar. Bargarh SP Prahalad Sahai Meena has been transferred as SP of Gajapati district.
S. Susree, who was serving as SP of Nayagarh, has been appointed as SP, Vigilance. Raj Prasad from the Special Branch has been posted as the new SP of Rayagada.
The reshuffle also saw Ganjam SP Suvendu Kumar Patra being transferred as SP of Khurda. Boudh SP Rahul Goel has been shifted to the Special Branch as SP.
Harisha B.C., who was SP of Kandhamal, has been appointed as the new SP of Ganjam. Additional SP of Bhadrak Kashyap Parth Jagdish has been posted as SP of Nabarangpur.
Kuldeep Meena, who was serving as ADC to the Governor, has been appointed as SP of Boudh. Ramendra Prasad, Additional SP of Rayagada, has been posted as SP of Kandhamal.
In another significant change, ACP of UPD Cuttack Ananya Awasthi has been appointed as ADC to the Governor.
The state government also transferred several OPS officers. Krushna Prasad Patnaik has been posted as SP, Signals, while Rabindra Nath Satapathy has been appointed as SP of Bargarh.
Krushna Prasad Das from the Special Branch has been transferred as SP, SRP, Rourkela, and Kishore Chandra Mund has been posted as SP of Deogarh.
