Bhubaneswar: A man was found dead with his throat slit in Odisha’s Puri district today.

The deceased has been identified as Lipu Jena of Jagannathpatna village under Puri Sadar police limits.

Jena was found dead with his throat slit in a cashew forest near Narasinghpatna bridge in Brahmagiri area of Puri in the evening.  

On being informed, senior officials of Puri Sadar police and Brahmagiri police rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that some miscreants have killed Jena by slitting his throat and dumped the body in the cashew forest, police said.
