Angul: In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly beaten to death by his father and the body was secretly buried around five days ago at Arkil village under the Rengali Dam Site police limits in Odisha's Angul district.

The deceased has been identified as Kuja Behera, son of Muralidhar Behera. Acting on the complaint, police have detained the deceased’s father, mother and first wife for questioning and launched an investigation into the matter.

As per reports, Kuja had married nearly 10 years ago and had two children with his first wife. About four years ago, he reportedly brought home a second wife. However, his family allegedly opposed the relationship and did not allow the woman to stay in the family's house.

As a result, Kuja had reportedly been living separately with his second wife on another piece of land belonging to his father. Frequent disputes were said to have taken place within the family over the issue.

Preliminary allegations suggest that during one such confrontation, the father allegedly assaulted Kuja, leading to his death. The body was then allegedly buried to conceal the crime.

Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
