Balasore: In an unusual display of protest, a man staged a symbolic “last rites” ceremony for his electric scooter outside an Ola showroom in Balasore district.

The protester, identified as Vinod Singh from the Gaddeulia area, had purchased an Ola e-scooter in 2023. Despite the vehicle being under a three-year warranty, Singh alleged the scooter developed technical issues, prompting him to approach the Ola showroom at Sahadevkhunta for repairs.

Instead of providing service support, the showroom manager allegedly misbehaved with Singh. Upset over the poor customer service and lack of resolution, he decided to protest in a unique way.

Singh garlanded his scooter and performed its “funeral” right in front of the showroom, expressing his frustration and anger over the incident.
