Balangir: Panic gripped several villages in the Tusura region of Balangir district in Odisha after mild earthquake tremors were felt early Saturday morning.

Early morning tremors trigger panic in Tusura region

According to local reports, the tremors were experienced at around 4:42 a.m. in areas including Tusura, Dahimal, Pendhimunda, Deulagudi, Nuapada and Gaudagoth. Residents, startled by the sudden shaking, rushed out of their homes in fear.

The tremors were also reportedly felt in neighbouring blocks, although no damage to property or casualties have been reported so far.

Authorities have not yet released official details regarding the magnitude or depth of the earthquake on the Richter scale. However, the incident has left locals anxious, with many demanding greater awareness and preparedness measures from the administration.

Officials are expected to assess the situation and issue advisories if necessary.
