Jharsuguda: A tragic incident was reported from Jharsuguda district, where a newborn girl allegedly died after falling to the ground due to suspected negligence by hospital staff.

The incident occurred at the Palsada Primary Health Centre under Lakhanpur block. According to reports, a pregnant woman from Machida village was brought to the facility on Sunday afternoon for delivery.

Family members alleged soon after childbirth, negligence by on-duty healthcare staff led to the newborn slipping and falling, resulting in her death. The incident triggered tension on the hospital premises, with relatives demanding strict action against those responsible.

Upon receiving information, Rengali police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Sources said some healthcare personnel have been detained for questioning as part of the probe.
