Angul: A newly-wed youth was found hanging from a cashew tree near Machhakuta playground under Chhendipada police limits in Odisha’s Angul district on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Manas Behera. According to reports, Manas had allegedly lost a huge amount of money in online gaming. Despite getting married just 15 days ago, he reportedly continued to remain addicted to online games, which often led to family disputes.

Police said Manas had gone missing from his house around 1 pm on Wednesday following a quarrel at home. On Thursday morning at around 6 am, locals spotted his body hanging with a rope from a cashew tree near the playground and informed his family members.

Police have recovered the body and sent it for postmortem examination.

Cops have registered an unnatural death case and started an investigation into the incident.
