Bhubaneswar: Acting on the directive of a special CBI Court (PMLA) in Jaipur in the high-profile Adarsh Credit Co-operative Society scam, the Odisha government has barred the registration, sale and transfer of properties belonging to 139 accused in the state.

The General Administration and Public Grievance Department has issued instructions to all Collectors and District Magistrates to take necessary steps to enforce the order.

On April 21, 2026, the special CBI Court passed an order and asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to take stringent measures to prevent the disposal or transfer of assets linked to the accused. Subsequently, the ED wrote to chief secretaries of all states, urging them to ensure properties owned by the accused are not sold or transferred to third parties.

In its communication, the ED asked any identified property linked to the accused must be immediately reported to its offices. It also directed district administrations, registration authorities, and urban development bodies to strictly implement the order.

Notably, the list of 139 accused includes various companies, builders, developers, and individuals associated with the Adarsh Credit Co-operative Society. Entities from cities such as Gurugram, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, and Delhi are part of the list. 

However, no Odisha-based company has been directly named. Suspicions have been raised that some of the listed entities may hold assets within Odisha.
