Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday assured full support to Singaporean investors, including a single-window clearance system and swift decision-making on investment proposals, during a meeting with Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, in Bhubaneswar.
Highlighting Odisha’s investor-friendly ecosystem, the Chief Minister said Singapore’s expertise in urban planning, clean energy, port management, and technology would significantly contribute to the state’s developmental goals.
Referring to the visit of Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to Odisha in January 2025, Majhi said the trip had strengthened bilateral cooperation. During the visit, eight key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed across five major state departments.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to expedite the implementation of these MoUs and proposed the creation of a structured engagement mechanism to ensure the success of Singapore’s investments and partnerships in the state.
Invites investors to explore opportunities
He also invited business delegations from Singapore to explore opportunities in green energy, urban development, and skill development sectors in Odisha.
Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong congratulated the Odisha government on completing two years in office and assured continued cooperation in the state’s development journey.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hemant Sharma, and Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Vishal Dev, among others. Singapore’s Consul-General in Mumbai, Cheong Ming Foong, along with other senior officials of the High Commission, was also present.
