Bhubaneswar: Over 400 students of Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar, have secured jobs in reputed companies through campus recruitment drive, revealed the Skill Development Department of the Odisha government.
Skill Development, and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain distributed the appointment letters among the students during the ‘Campus to Career’ programme, organised at the institute, today.
After completing their training in various trades, these students secured placement opportunities through campus recruitment in more than 32 prestigious companies, such as Tata Power, JSW, Paytm, Yazaki, and MedPlus, said the authorities.
Among the selected candidates are 175 male students and 234 female students. Companies like Paytm have offered the highest annual package of Rs 3.95 lakh, they added.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that this success of the students reflects the true picture of skill development in the state. He emphasized that skill development is not just about becoming employable but about establishing oneself in a competitive market.
The Minister also inaugurated the ‘Waste to Wealth’ Skill Park on the institute campus. The park has been created using waste materials, scrap, and broken machinery parts from various training units and laboratories of the institute. Swain praised this innovative effort, noting that the park will be highly instrumental in promoting environmental protection and achieving ‘Green Skills.’
On the occasion, the Minister released a book titled Nari Vandana: Empowering Narishakti, published by the institute. The book chronicles the successful journey of 168 female students of Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar, who completed their training and secured placements through the ‘Sudakshya’ scheme.
