Bhubaneswar: In a key decision, the Odisha government has revised the salaries of contractual lecturers, readers, and professors working in government Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic medical colleges.
As per the decision, the monthly salary of contractual lecturers has been fixed at ₹70,000. The salaries of readers and professors have also been significantly increased.
The remuneration of readers has been doubled from ₹40,000 to ₹80,000 per month, while professors will now receive ₹1 lakh per month, up from ₹50,000 earlier.
The proposal, put forward by the Health and Family Welfare Department, has received approval from the Finance Department.
Welcoming the move, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling said the decision would strengthen AYUSH education in the state. He added the revised pay structure is expected to motivate faculty members and improve the overall quality of teaching in these institutions.
