Bhubaneswar: The police in Odisha’s Kendrapara district detained a self-styled godman over an alleged attempt to sexually assault a minor girl today.

The incident took place in Mahakalpara area of Kendrapara.

As per reports, the girl has been suffering from some health complications for last few days. The ailing girl’s family members reportedly took her to the self-styled godman to perform some ‘rituals’ for her early recovery.

However, the godman allegedly made an attempt to molest the minor girl on the pretext of performing the ‘rituals’. The victim later informed the incident to her family members.

Soon, a complaint was lodged with the police. Taking the incident seriously, the Mahakalpara police detained the accused and launched a probe into the incident.
