Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Odisha on the occasion of the second anniversary of the BJP government led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said on Thursday.
The Odisha government will complete two years in office on June 12, 2026, after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state for the first time in the 2024 Assembly elections, ending the 24-year rule of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) led by former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Speaking to reporters, Pujari said discussions were held between the Chief Minister and several ministers regarding the anniversary celebrations. He added that the Prime Minister’s Office would soon be formally informed about the proposed visit of Modi to the state.

According to the minister, the state government is planning a 10-day-long celebration programme to mark the completion of two years in office. Ministers have been asked to prepare detailed reports on the achievements and initiatives undertaken by their respective departments during the tenure.
“These reports will soon be submitted to the Chief Minister and later presented before the people of the state,” Pujari said.
