Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on a one-day tour on June 20, during which he will visit Pahadpur in Mayurbhanj district and participate in the celebrations marking the second anniversary of the Odisha government at Dandbose.
According to the tentative tour programme, the Prime Minister will depart from Kalaikunda Air Force Station in West Bengal by an MI-17 helicopter at 10:20 a.m. and arrive at Pahadpur Helipad in Mayurbhanj at 11:05 a.m. He will then travel by road to Gosani Peeth at Pahadpur, the ancestral village of President Droupadi Murmu, reaching there at 11:15 a.m.
Modi is scheduled to spend about an hour in Pahadpur, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., visiting the historic and cultural sites in the area. After concluding the visit, he will return to the helipad and depart by helicopter at 12:25 p.m., reaching Dandbose Helipad at 12:45 p.m.
From there, the Prime Minister will proceed to the event venue, where he will attend the Two-Year Completion Programme of the Government of Odisha from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. He is expected to address a public gathering during the event.
After the programme, Modi will leave the venue at 2:05 p.m., reach Dandbose Helipad by 2:10 p.m., and depart Odisha at 2:15 p.m. by MI-17 helicopter for Tarkeshwar in Hooghly district of West Bengal, where he is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 p.m.
Announcing the visit, BJP State General Secretary Biranchi Narayan Tripathy said the Prime Minister has consistently brought major developmental initiatives for Odisha during his previous visits and expressed confidence that this tour would also prove significant for the state.
“Whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Odisha, he has gifted the state major development projects. This time, too, as he comes to Rairangpur for the BJP government's second anniversary celebrations, we expect him to announce several new schemes and projects. Since the BJP came to power in Odisha, the Prime Minister has visited the state seven times and has always shown his commitment to building a developed Odisha,” Tripathy said.
He further said that the Prime Minister’s visit would boost the morale of BJP workers and strengthen both the party organisation and the state government. “The visit will energise party workers and provide further momentum to the government's development agenda in Odisha,” he added.
The high-profile visit has triggered preparations across Mayurbhanj district, with security arrangements expected to be heightened in the coming days. Officials are also making elaborate arrangements for the public meeting and the Prime Minister’s engagements at Pahadpur and Dandbose.
