Student Dies After Falling From Hostel Building at IIT Bhubaneswar

A PhD student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar died after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of a hostel building inside the campus.

Bhubaneswar: A PhD student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar died after allegedly falling from the sixth floor of a hostel building inside the campus.

The deceased has been identified as Tanikonda Nishant Kumar, a research scholar from the Electrical Engineering department. He hailed from Andhra Pradesh.

According to reports, security staff found Nishant lying critically injured after the fall and immediately shifted him to a hospital located inside the campus.

Following the advice of doctors, the student was later shifted to a private hospital in an ambulance for better treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Jatni Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. The exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.
