Sundargarh: A school teacher was injured after being attacked by a pet dog while carrying out census-related work in the Dengibhadi area of Sundargarh town.

The incident took place when Anjana Nayak, a teacher of Dengibhadi school, visited a house for census duties, including house numbering. During the process, a pet dog suddenly attacked her, biting her on the leg and tearing her clothes.

Injured teacher rushed to hospital, given anti-rabies shot

Following the attack, local residents rescued the injured teacher and rushed her to the Sundargarh district headquarters hospital. She was administered anti-rabies injections.

Victim expresses fear and safety concerns

After the incident, the teacher said she felt frightened and unsafe while performing field duties. The episode has raised concerns about the safety of personnel engaged in door-to-door government work such as census operations.
