Cuttack: Three police personnel were injured after allegedly being attacked with sharp weapons inside the Sixth Battalion campus in Odisha's Cuttack city late last night.

The incident occurred when on-duty police staff noticed a youth and a young woman inside the battalion premises and asked them to leave. The youth allegedly refused to comply and got into an argument with the police personnel. The situation soon escalated into a physical scuffle.

The youth later informed his associates, following which a group of youths gathered at the spot and launched an attack on the police personnel using sharp weapons. Three cops sustained head injuries in the assault and were rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

The condition of the injured personnel is currently stable.

In connection with the incident, Chauliaganj Police Station has arrested five individuals for allegedly attacking police officers on duty. Further investigation is underway.
