Baripada: In a shocking incident, two bodies were found hanging from a tree in Kaliaposi village under Thakurmunda police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday.

According to police, the deceased include a young woman from Kaliaposi village and a young man from Sunaposi village under Karanjia police station limits. Their bodies were found hanging from the same tree branch on the outskirts of the village.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident may be linked to a suspected love affair between the two. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

On receiving information, Thakurmunda police, along with fire services personnel, reached the spot and recovered the bodies.

Police said all angles are being probed to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
