Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, two women lost their lives after coming into contact with a live electric wire at Ranjagola village under Hindol police limits in Odisha's Dhenkanal district during the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Manisha Dehury (40) and Ranju Dehury (38), who were sisters-in-law. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 2 am when both women suffered a fatal electric shock inside the house.

Police have started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the electrocution.

The deaths have cast a pall of gloom over Ranjagola village, with residents expressing shock and grief over the tragedy.
