Balangir: An unidentified body was found lying on a railway track near railway underbridge between Salebhata and Mursundi in Agalpur block of Balangir district on Saturday, triggering concern in the area.

Head injury raises suspicion in rail track death case

According to initial reports, the body was spotted on the track close to the railway underbridge. While the deceased had a severe head injury, no visible injury marks were found on other parts of the body, raising suspicion among locals.

Residents in the area have speculated about the possibility of foul play, although the exact cause of death remains unclear.

On receiving information, police from the Salebhata police outpost reached the spot and began an investigation.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. Police said further inquiry is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death.
