Bhubaneswar: An elderly woman died after she was allegedly administered a wrong injection by a quack in Odisha’s Balangir district today.

The incident took place in Muribahal area of Balangir. The deceased has been identified as Koushalya Panika of Karlapita village.

As per reports, Koushalya developed some health complications today morning. The elderly woman accompanied by her granddaughter visited a quack, who was operating a clinic at a nearby village.

The quack, identified as Tunu Bagarthi, reportedly administered an injection to Koushalya. Soon, the elderly woman’s health deteriorated and she died, reports said.

Following the incident, the quack allegedly fled the spot. Koushalya’s family members, meanwhile, alleged that the elderly woman lost her life after she was administered a wrong injection by the quack.  

On being informed, the Muribahal police rushed to the village and launched a probe into the incident.
