Bhubaneswar: A woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped by four persons in Odisha’s Deogarh district on April 20.

The incident took place in Barkote area of Deogarh. The police today arrested the accused persons and produced them in a local court.

The accused have been identified as Daktar Bhuinya (33), Manoj Mahakul (28) and Uda Dheebar (26) of Balita village and Prashant Nayak of Indranijharan village under Barkote police limits.

As per reports, the four men allegedly kidnapped the woman from her village on April 20 and raped her.

They also recorded the crime in mobile phone and later made the video viral. The survivor lodged a complaint in this regard with the Barkote police.

On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.

“The four accused persons were arrested today and produced in a local court. They were later sent to jail as the court rejected their bail petitions,” said a police official.
