Bhubaneswar: A youth was found dead near the Anantapur canal in the Phulnakhara area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday morning, raising suspicion of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Prabhat Behera, who was a resident of Anantapur under Pahala police limits. He was working as a Hywa manager.

It is suspected that he may have been beaten to death, though the exact cause will be confirmed after further investigation.

A plastic pipe was found near the body, while a scooter was spotted a short distance away from the spot. The recovery of these items has added to the suspicion that the youth may have been assaulted before being killed.

Police have recovered the body for post-mortem and started an investigation into the incident.

During the probe, police apprehended the Hywa owner and the Hywa owner's brother over their alleged involvement in killing Prabhat.

Tension ran high in the locality after the arrest of the accused, as angry locals demanded that the duo be brought to the spot. Police were trying to pacify them
