Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today condoled the demise of noted Odia film actress, producer and director Parbati Ghose.

"Deeply shocked at the passing away of veteran film personality Parvati Ghosh. She was an icon of women's empowerment & one of the greatest gifts to Odia cinema. Her departure is a great loss to the film industry. My thoughts & prayers with the family. May her soul rest in peace," Patnaik wrote on twitter.

Patnaik also announced State funeral for Parbati Ghose.

The actress breathed her last late on Sunday night at a private hospital, informed her brother and noted music director Swarup Nayak.
