Odisha HC Chief Justice recommended for elevation to SC

Bhubaneswar: Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Vineet Saran has been recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation to the Supreme Court.

Besides Saran, KM Joseph and Indira Banerjee, Chief Justices of the High Courts of Uttarakhand and Madras, respectively have been recommended for the same.

Justice Vineet Saran was appointed as a judge of the Allahabad High Court on February 14, 2002 and was transferred to Karnataka High Court on February 16, 2015. He was elevated as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on February 26, 2016.

On the other hand, the collegium has also recommended appointment of Justice KS Jhaveri as the new Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
