Bhubaneswar : Here’s good news! The conjoined twins from Odisha– Jaga and Kalia–whose heads were separated at AIIMS in Delhi last year after a successful marathon surgery, are likely to be shifted to a hospital in Odisha soon.

According to a source in the AIIMS, Jaga and Kalia are recovering quickly and if their parents wish then we might discharge both the kids and shift them to Bhubaneswar AIIMS or they can be kept under the supervision of doctors at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack from the first week of March.

However, their parents – Pushpanjali Kanhara and Bhuiya Kanhara expressed concern and want to stay in Delhi for few more months till their children declared completely out of danger, the source added.

Jaga, according to AIIMS doctors, is fast recovering compared than his sibling Kalia, was seen moving in a wheelchair at the hospital premises. Both the kids are under constant supervision of the doctors and nurses from premier hospital.

Notably, the twins hailing from Milipada village in Kandhamal district were separated following a 22-hour-long craniopagus surgery by doctors at the hospital on October 25 and 26.

A team of around 30 specialists from the institute’s neurosurgery, neuro-anaesthesia and plastic surgery departments had performed the marathon surgery.
