Third phase polls in Odisha: Bhubaneswar LS seat records lowest voter turnout

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat recorded the lowest voter turnout in the third phase polls in Odisha yesterday.

Six Lok Sabha seats—Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar—and 42 Assembly constituencies under them went for polling in the third phase.

The overall voter turnout in the third phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha stood at 74.49 per cent, said the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) today.

Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat recorded the lowest voter turnout of 64.49 per cent while Sambalpur seat reported the highest turnout of 79.50 per cent in the third phase polls, added the CEO.

The voter turnout was 78.97 per cent in Keonjhar Lok Sabha seat, 78.01 per cent in Dhenkanal segment, 75.43 per cent in Puri and 71.20 per cent in Cuttack constituency in the third phase, said the CEO.
