Bhubaneswar: A woman postal employee was found hanging in her rented accommodation under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Ganjam district today.

The deceased has been identified as Rashmita Behera of Sorana village in Khurda district.

Rashmita, a spinster, was working at a post office in Buguda area of Ganjam district for last several years.

She was staying alone in a rented accommodation in the locality. Rashmita’s rented room was found locked from inside today.

Suspecting something unpleasant, the house owner informed the incident to Buguda police.

The woman postal employee was found hanging in her room once police broke open the door.

The police have seized Rashmita’s mobile phone and a diary from her room and launched a probe into the incident.

The cops have informed the incident to the postal department as well as Rashmita’s family.

The police are conducting the probe to find whether it was a case of suicide or murder.
