Bhubaneswar: Marking a significant step towards clean energy adoption, Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) supply was formally launched at N-6 area of IRC Village in Nayapalli area, on April 13, coinciding with the 78th Capital Foundation Day of Bhubaneswar.
The initiative has been implemented as part of the National PNG Drive 2.0, aimed at expanding access to piped natural gas across urban households.
Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi inaugurates gas supply in IRC Village
The DPNG supply was inaugurated by Bhubaneswar Member of Parliament (MP) Aparajita Sarangi, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The programme witnessed participation from local residents and officials associated with the project.
Push for clean, safe, and affordable household energy
Kausik Das, General Manager (CGD) and Officer-in-Charge, Bhubaneswar, along with other GAIL CGD officials, highlighted the benefits of Domestic Piped Natural Gas. He outlined the roadmap to extend PNG connections to every household in the locality.
Encouragement for wider adoption
Addressing the gathering, the MP shared her personal experience as a DPNG user and encouraged residents to adopt the cleaner fuel alternative. She emphasised key benefits such as enhanced safety, uninterrupted supply, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.
The rollout of DPNG in Nayapalli is expected to boost the adoption of eco-friendly energy solutions and contribute to a greener urban environment in the capital city.
