Heatwave alert: Schools in Odisha’s Cuttack to remain shut for 3 days

All schools and Anganwadi Centres in Odisha’s Cuttack district will remain closed for three days starting April 21 in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in some parts of the state. The district administration today issued an order in this regard.

Bhubaneswar: All schools and Anganwadi Centres in Odisha’s Cuttack district will remain closed for three days starting April 21 in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in some parts of the state. The district administration today issued an order in this regard.

As per the order, all government, government-aided and private schools as well as the Anganwadi Centres in Cuttack will remain closed from April 21 to 23 amid the prevailing hot and humid conditions.

Earlier, the Collectors of several districts in Odisha including Ganjam, Deogarh, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Balangir, and Nuapada had announced closure of educational institutes amid heatwave alert by the IMD.

As per the IMD prediction, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail across Odisha till April 25.

Several districts including Jharsuguda and Balangir may witness heatwave conditions in next few days, said the IMD.
